Watts Control manufactures a range of Heavy-Duty Portable Tool Transformers with intermittent ratings from 375VA to 5000VA.

All transformers are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 61558 Parts 1, 2-4 and 2-23 and have a voltage ratio of 230:110CTE. The transformers provide reduced low voltage supply in accordance with BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations).

All transformers are housed inside robust IP44 rated Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) enclosures. Units from 375VA to 3300VA have a single carrying handle (weight up to 18kg) whilst 5000VA models incorporate two carrying handles (weight up to 35kg).

Watts Control Portable Tool Transformers are designed to be operated intermittently with a duty cycle of 5 minutes on and 15 minutes off based on their intermittent rating. However, they can be used for continuous applications provided that the protective devices are down-rated to provide adequate over current protection.

All transformers are fitted with suitably rated resettable thermal overload devices reducing the possibility of overload. 5kVA models are not fitted with 13A plugs and cannot operate at a full load when fed from a 13A source.
